Elections
for a new executive for the Krio Descendants Union were held on
Saturday, February 17. The elections were conducted by Justice Bintu
Alhadi, previously elected as Presiding Officer for the entire process that started with nominations on January 27.
The elections were peaceful and orderly. Mrs Cassandra Garber was
reelected without opposition to the position of President. All
positions were filled with the exception of Youth Officer, for which it
was decided that a separate bye election would be held, due to lack of
clarity on the current status of the youth group. The new executive will serve a 3-year term, till early 2021.
